Make Your Marketing Articles Compelling

Many people seem to have the idea that just submitting their marketing articles to the article distribution sites is enough.  However, while having your articles — and the links they contain — on these sites does benefit your site, the real value is what happens after you submit your articles… if they are compelling enough.

The entire idea of article marketing is that others — i.e. publishers of newsletters, blogs, and websites that need fast content — will reprint them, reproducing your links over and over again.  But no one (or at least no one with a high-quality website, which is what you need for the links to be of any use to you) will choose to reprint your article unless it is compelling enough to satisfy their readers.

So when you are deciding what to write your marketing articles on, choose topics that will be interesting and useful to your target market.  The most important thing is to offer information that your target audience really needs or wants to know, preferably information that is not readily available elsewhere.

For instance, if you run a website selling vacation packages online, you could write articles on the following topics:

  1. Top selling all inclusive vacations to Mexico or another location
  2. Insider information for a specific city – where to go, places to avoid, etc.
  3. Tips for how to book a hotel – i.e. how to make sure you don’t get screwed over with fees

All of these topic ideas provide information that travelers really need when they are planning a trip, so they are more likely to get picked up by travel publications and websites — and more likely to be read!
